Allergy and Asthma Center of East Orlando is the practice of Dr. Boyce Hornberger. It is a family oriented allergy practice treating allergy problems in adults and children. Allergy problems treated include hayfever, allergic asthma, sinus problems, food allergies, drug allergies, rashes, contact dermatitis, eczema, atopic dermatits, hives, immune deficiency and assorted other allergy problems.

Does AllerpetC work?

This is an older study but since the last article dealt with hypoallergenic dog I think that cats should be mentioned. This is an older study by Thomas A. E. Platts-Mills, et al published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology looking at the benefit of using AllerpetC on cat allergen removal. AllerpetC according to the makers “cleanses your cat's hair of saliva and dander, the prime causes of allergic reactions”. In the study they took ten cats and used cloths of a set size to wipe the cats down with AllerpetC, water or dry cloths. They then measure the amount of allergen in the cloths for each.

Outgrowing Peanut Allergy?

Can you outgrow peanut allergy and if you do is it forever? There have been quite a few studies done trying to find the answer to these questions. In one study Fleischer, et al published the results of a study in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical immunology that showed that there is a risk of recurrence if you do outgrow peanut allergy. They looked at 67 children who had outgrown peanut allergy.

Environmental Controls Help

In a study reported in the Journal “Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology” Perry T, et al looked at the characteristics of houses compared to levels of dust mites, cockroach, cat and dog allergens. They studied the homes of 339 asthmatic children age 6 to 17. Environmental experts went into the homes to examine them and the levels of the allergens were measured.
